Builder #2: Unlimited Potential (Meeting Agenda)

This meeting agenda is organized into 3 parts. As the facilitator, you can choose to use 1, 2 or all 3 parts of this agenda based on the time you want to allocate and what you want to accomplish with the group.

  • Golden Nuggets (builds team cohesion)
  • Topical Conversations (reinforces specific concepts)
  • Application (drives changes in behavior)

Part 1 - Golden Nuggets

What were your golden nuggets from our last conversation? (Go around the room, each person picks the next to share.) What were your golden nuggets from listening to Builder #2? They could be concepts or takeaways, relevant stories or experiences — from your life or someone else’s. (As people share golden nuggets) Do any examples or experiences of that come to mind?

Part 2 - Topical Conversations

One of the topics discussed was _______. What were your thoughts about this? What examples of this principle in action come to mind?

Topics:
Maximums vs. Minimums
  • When it comes to what you’re willing to strive towards, how much of a role do you think giving yourself permission to dream big has?
  • Somebody share an example of a time when you’ve lived your life focused on maximums? How did things change over time? (get a few examples from the group)
  • Somebody share an example of a time when you’ve lived your life focused on minimums? How did things change over time? Were you able to achieve a high degree of success in this area of your life? (get a few examples from the group)
Before you can have, you must become:
  • What were your thoughts on that statement?
  • Why is this so important?
  • Why don’t more people focus on the becoming part? (It feels hard, they don’t believe they can)
  • The myth of the overnight success
Unlimited Potential:
  • Every strength we now have was once a weakness. What are some examples of things you once were weak at that now you’re really good at?
  • Nothing is a life sentence
  • Sometimes and for some things it takes longer than others, but we always get there
Conscious vs. Subconscious Mind:
  • Setting clear and specific goals in conscious mind enables the subconscious mind to develop plans. What are some examples of this at work?
  • Autopilot: things you do without thinking (example: driving to work but forgetting how you got there)
  • Eureka Moments: finally figuring something out on a walk or in the middle of the night
Feedback:
  • Subconscious mind automatically adjusts based on feedback.
  • What are some examples of this? (walking example)
  • What does this mean for stress and anxiety? (eliminate overthinking)
Peak Performance:
  • The mind working this way means the plans we’re operating off of determine our results in life — because performance is a function of cause & effect. We must master the fundamentals. When we study them by reading books, we start to realize they all say the same thing.

Part 3 - Application

  • What do maximums look like on our team? How will consistently focusing on doing maximums impact our team’s success? What do minimums look like? How will focusing on minimums impact our team’s success?
  • How do the concepts discussed in this builder apply to your individual roles?
  • What do maximums look like on your role? How will consistently focusing on doing maximums impact your success? What do minimums look like? How will focusing on minimums impact your success?
